Becoming//Black is a collection of poems that follows Mwende "FreeQuency" Katwiwa's exploration of Blackness/Black identity after emigrating from Kenya to their diasporic home in the United States. The collection opens with the authors arrival in the United States and features poems exploring their journey into themself and (their) Black identity as an immigrant to the Western world.
